CBETA 電子佛典 2 (非官方)24.0.0

Read electronic Buddhist scriptures from a Linux desktop through CBETA 電子佛典 2 (非官方), which provides a focused reader for Buddhist text study. The application obtains scripture content through the CBETA API, connecting its reading interface to CBETA’s electronic-text service. This gives readers a dedicated way to consult Buddhist materials rather than handling the API content directly.

The program suits students, researchers, and anyone reading Buddhist literature for study or electronic reference. Its educational purpose is centered on accessing and reading scripture content in a Linux environment. As its name indicates, it is an unofficial reader, so it should be regarded as an independent application rather than an official CBETA release. Meng-Yuan Huang is the developer and publisher behind the project.

Version 24.0.0 requires Linux with snapd and is intended for x86_64 systems, also known as amd64 architecture. The software is released under an open-source license, placing its source and development within that model. Users should therefore have both the supported Linux environment and snapd available before using this reader.
