About

Build defensive chip arrays in designated slots to protect a CPU from attackers represented as bits and bytes. Chip Defense is a casual tower-defense game built around electric-circuit layouts and logical chips that recall the era of 8-bit microprocessors. Each chip acts as a tower, damaging intruders through operations such as subtraction, right shifts, and bitwise AND, while upgrades increase its strength.

The game includes more than 25 heroes and heroines drawn from influential figures in computer history. Each character has a short biography and grants global bonuses that assist the defense across a level. Players can tackle 32 predefined stages or enter an endless mode that creates levels randomly. English, French, and German are supported.

In version 1.64, the multiple-upgrade button works with every chip type, its position is swapped with SELL, and the scroll-lock button is moved to the top. The update also corrects hero requirements so Sid Meier becomes available again, restores the effect of SHR and SHL chips above a certain strength, and redraws ACC chips after cooldown ends.

Chip Defense is open-source software in the Games category for Android, requiring Android 6.0 or later on Universal architecture. Devices running Android 5 should use version 1.57, which is the last release intended for that system generation.
