CleanMyMac CLI scans developer caches, project leftovers, and system clutter from the Terminal, then helps reclaim the disk space they occupy. It covers cleanup targets from Docker, Xcode, Homebrew, package managers, project folders, AI tools, and macOS. Storage analysis reports what is consuming space, while scriptable commands support command-line workflows and quick performance tasks.

The tool detects caches and generated files from npm, Yarn, pnpm, pip, Poetry, uv, and Homebrew, along with Xcode DerivedData, Device Support, Module Cache, and related Xcode files. It also finds project artifacts such as node_modules, .next, .turbo, target, and .build across common project directories, grouping results by project. Artifacts older than seven days are selected for removal automatically, while newer ones remain visible for manual review.

Interactive cleanup asks for confirmation before deletion, protects system locations, and uses cleanup logic shared with CleanMyMac, leaving the final decision with the user. The cleanmymac and cmm commands access the same program, so developers can use its interactive interface or incorporate its operations into terminal-based routines. It suits developers whose Docker images, build outputs, package caches, and AI-generated files have accumulated across working Macs.

CleanMyMac CLI 1.0.0 is freeware for macOS 11 or later, supports Intel and Apple Silicon, and requires Homebrew; its formula is maintained in the MacPaw/homebrew-taps repository. It is currently in public beta, so commands and behavior may change as the experience develops.
