Copy an image into the clipboard and Clop optimises it immediately, helping you paste smaller files; it also handles videos, PDFs and clipboard content. Screen recordings can be reduced to screenshot-sized files, while the app keeps processing on your Mac. For video, Clop can crop to any dimensions or aspect ratio, convert footage to GIF, change its speed, mute or remove audio, and encode it into formats such as MP4.

Its downscaling controls reduce resolution incrementally from 90% to 10%, while keys 1 through 9 select specific sizes. Dragging files onto the drop zone supports Command for more aggressive optimisation and Option for dismissing the interface, and preset zones can downscale to 50% and convert to WebP, upload through Dropshare while copying a Markdown URL, apply a logo, text or monogram watermark, or crop to 16:9 and add the result to the last edited note. Images can convert to WebP automatically, remain beside the original by default, and be renamed with a template parameter; Clop also integrates with File Shelves.

Power users can press Control-Shift-C to optimise the current clipboard, select images or videos in Finder and press Control-O, or use Finder’s preview-pane action. It converts formats such as HEIC, TIFF and MOV into broadly compatible alternatives, with conversion settings configurable and originals retained in a backup folder accessible from the app menu. Native macOS Shortcuts support lets workflows downscale and optimise recurring attachments, such as images emailed weekly.

Clop suits people who annotate tutorial screenshots, compress oversized email batches, or monitor folders containing captures from tools such as Shottr; marketing workers can use it alongside CleanShot when annotating design elements for requests. Version 3.4.6 is freeware for macOS 13 Ventura or later and runs on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
