CODA lets a connected ADInstruments CODA Monitor stream its measurements into LabChart, bringing the monitor’s readings into that software for recording and analysis. It serves as the device enabler between the two products, rather than as a standalone monitoring environment. The monitor uses Volume Pressure Recording sensor technology to measure blood pressure at the tail of mice or rats, with animals either awake or anesthetized.

Available data channels include systolic, diastolic, and mean blood pressure, heart rate, tail blood volume, and tail blood flow. Researchers use CODA when a CODA Monitor is part of a laboratory measurement workflow and its physiological readings must be handled in LabChart. It suits laboratory staff collecting cardiovascular and related tail measurements from rodents within the ADInstruments software environment.

Published by ADInstruments, CODA is Windows software in the System Tools category and runs on x86 architecture. Its intended operation uses both an ADInstruments CODA Monitor and LabChart, so those companion products form part of the working setup. In the current 1.0.6400 release, the CODA 1.0.6 device enabler fixes a rounding problem associated with certain Windows regional settings, and there are no new known issues in this release.
