CoMaps - Hike, Bike, Drive Offline with Privacy

CoMaps lets you plan routes and follow them offline for walking, cycling, driving, and outdoor travel, including trips through areas without cellular service. It uses OpenStreetMap data to provide community-maintained navigation for everyday journeys and remote excursions.

You can save detailed map regions for offline access, then search addresses, places, and points of interest without an internet connection. Its outdoor maps show hiking trails, campsites, water sources, peaks, contour lines, walking paths, and cycleways, while also covering restaurants, fuel stations, hotels, shops, and sights. Voice guidance supports walking, cycling, and driving routes, and the app adds bookmarks, offline Wikipedia articles, a subway layer with directions, track recording, and data import and export.

Compact offline maps help limit storage use, and CoMaps is designed to avoid the battery drain associated with other navigation applications. It suits travelers, commuters, hikers, cyclists, and drivers who want detailed map access while reducing dependence on online services; the project is community-led and not-for-profit, with an open-source license.

The Android release is version 2026.08.31-14-FDroid, requires Android 5.0 or newer, and supports arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, and x86_64 devices. This version can display favorite names on the map with an opt-out setting, show Mangrove reviews in point-of-interest details, customize map font size, let TalkBack read the map, start track recording after navigation begins, show when a place opens tomorrow, search in any user-selected map language, add roadshields across five Central Asian and Caucasus countries, and reveal bus stops earlier in the subway layer.
