Console0.3.1

Console replaces the default macOS Console application, giving users an alternative way to work with the operating system’s console environment. It was created because its developer considers Apple’s built-in console application completely broken since macOS 10.12 Sierra. The program is therefore aimed at people who need a substitute for the standard console when investigating or interacting with system activity.

Its scope is deliberately focused: Console is an OS X console application rather than a general-purpose system maintenance suite. Typical users include Mac owners, developers, and administrators who want to use a different console program in situations where the default application is unreliable for their work.

The current release is version 0.3.1 and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. It is categorized as a System Tools utility for Apple’s desktop operating system, so it is intended for use within macOS rather than on other platforms. Console is distributed as freeware under the MIT License, and developers who want to contribute to its code can do so through GitHub with an account.
