About

CoreTemp shows the temperature of each individual processor core in real time while also presenting other vital processor information, giving users a direct view of CPU conditions. It reveals temperature fluctuations as workloads change, making it useful for routine observation and for investigating processor-related concerns. Its compact, small-footprint design keeps the program focused on monitoring rather than broad system administration.

The utility reads the Digital Thermal Sensor built into modern processors, which provides more accurate, higher-resolution measurements than conventional onboard sensors. Its motherboard-agnostic design supports processors from Intel, AMD, and VIA, and the DTS feature is supported by all recent x86 processors. A plug-in platform allows developers to extend CoreTemp with additional features, while customization lets users adjust how the information is presented.

CoreTemp suits people who want to watch processor conditions during everyday computer use, demanding workloads, or troubleshooting. The overhauled Core Temp Gadget for Windows 7 and Vista adds graphs for processor load or temperature and memory utilization, with color-coded readings adjustable from its Options screen. CoreTempMC brings Core Temp readings and memory utilization into Windows Media Center on Windows 7 and Vista for remote viewing, while Android and Windows Phone options allow system monitoring away from home or the office.

CoreTemp 1.20.1 from ALCPU belongs to the System Tools category and supports Microsoft Windows 11, 10, 8/8.1, 7, XP, and Server 2025, 2022, 2019, 2016, 2012, 2008, and 2003 on an x86-based Intel, AMD, or VIA processor. This release fixes missing or stale core temperatures after reboot or sleep on Ryzen processors, addresses instances where the program stops responding during or after startup, and corrects TjMax reporting in Fahrenheit.
