Crest6.6.8

Crest puts files, passwords, coding-agent conversations, and small utilities into your Mac’s notch, giving developers and power users a persistent control surface while they work in another app. It answers Claude Code and Codex prompts there, so approvals and follow-up questions can be handled without leaving the terminal or current task. Command approvals use one-click actions, sequential answers go directly to Claude, and the notch shows five-hour and weekly usage limits.

Touch ID fills email addresses and passwords into Safari sign-in forms, while the authenticator offers six-digit 2FA codes and can create a new entry from a QR code displayed on your screen. Drag a file onto the notch to send it to a named friend; transfers are encrypted, and recipients without Crest receive a link instead. Dropping a file or folder into Keep in Crest Cloud encrypts it on your Mac before upload, then lets you retrieve it on any of your Macs or share it by link.

The notch also contains Now Playing controls with an Apple Music favorite button, calendar and weather information, 22 swipeable widgets, and categorized notes and reminders. A public-beta iPhone companion provides Safari password filling with Face ID, one-tap 2FA, and friend-to-phone files through Drop, works on iPhone Duo, and includes Take and Minutes once each. Crest 6.6.8 is free for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 Sonoma or later; no account or card is required, and passwords, codes, and notes remain yours.
