DesktopTileLauncher is an open-source Windows utility for creating desktop tiles that open URLs. It is intended for people who want direct access to web destinations from their Windows desktop. Each tile can be associated with a chosen browser and browser profile, allowing the same URL to open in the context selected by the user.
The main function is the creation of launch tiles for web addresses. When a tile is used, it opens the assigned URL through the selected browser and profile. This makes the application suitable for users who keep different browsing contexts and want a simple way to start a particular web destination in the appropriate one.
DesktopTileLauncher does not use telemetry. Its only network activity is the browser activity caused by a URL that the user launches. The application therefore fits the Windows desktop utility category as a focused launcher for browser-based destinations rather than as a web browser itself.
