About

Diffusion lets Ansible role developers initialize, configure, and manage roles from a command-line interface. Written in Go, it organizes role testing around Molecule and reduces the manual work involved in running its workflows. Its testing environments use Docker containers, allowing roles to be exercised in isolated, repeatable setups.

For private repositories, Diffusion connects with HashiCorp Vault to handle protected credentials. It supports registries provided by Yandex Cloud (YC), AWS, GCP, and public registry services. Interactive prompts guide project configuration directly in the command line, while built-in YAML and Ansible linting checks code against rules that users can customize.

Developers, maintainers, and testers of Ansible roles can use separate checks for convergence, verification, idempotence, and linting. These stages expose different aspects of role behavior instead of reducing validation to one test pass. After installation, running diffusion --help displays the available commands, and accompanying guides cover installation, building from source, and verification.

Polar-Team publishes Diffusion 0.8.7 for Windows as freeware in the System Tools category. Its combination of role management, containerized Molecule execution, registry support, credential integration, and configurable linting makes it suited to command-line role development and maintenance workflows.
