About

Run GameCube, Wii, and Triforce games on a Windows computer through Dolphin Emulator’s software-based recreation of those consoles. It gives PC users an emulation layer that translates games made for those platforms into something they can play on a computer. The Dolphin Emulator Project develops the program, whose current version is 2606.1.0.

Compatible games can be displayed in full HD at 1080p, making higher-resolution computer output available for supported titles. Dolphin accepts PC controllers, so players can use familiar computer gaming devices rather than being limited to a particular console setup. A turbo-speed control lets users accelerate emulated gameplay when appropriate, while networked multiplayer supports connected play.

The program is intended for people who already have compatible GameCube, Wii, or Triforce games and want to run them through an emulator on a PC. Dolphin Emulator is freeware, and its associated package updates automatically as newer package information becomes available. Users can report outdated package information to the maintainers.

Package parameters include /NOSTART, which stops a Start menu entry from being added, and /DesktopIcon, which creates a desktop shortcut. These options let users control the shortcuts created for the program while retaining its central role as a console-game emulator.
