DroidStress

DroidStress is an open-source system tool for Android devices that creates controlled processor and memory load. It is intended for Android users who need to stress a device, help consume battery during a battery refresh process, or warm a device that has become cold. The app uses unnecessary CPU calculations to generate load rather than serving as a general-purpose application.

Users can enter the number of CPU threads to use and set a duration in minutes. Leaving the duration field blank allows the process to run indefinitely, while the Stop control ends an active test. An optional memory stress test repeatedly allocates the specified amount in MiB, writes arbitrary data to it, and then frees it.

DroidStress can continue working in the background after its app window is closed, with a notification indicating that background processing is active. On Android 13 and newer, the first launch requests notification permission because that permission is needed for processing to continue when the window is not open. The Show blank screen control displays a solid black screen and temporarily prevents the display from sleeping, which is intended to help prevent burn-in on OLED displays during longer tests.

The About menu provides the app's version and license information. As an Android entry in the System Tools category, DroidStress is suited to device-level testing and maintenance tasks rather than ordinary content or productivity work. MirrorNest distributes the official build directly from its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing.
