MultiLocale adds language and locale choices to an Android device when its built-in settings omit the option you need. It extends the locale list so users can select additional or otherwise unsupported locales instead of being confined to the choices exposed by the device software. This addresses manufacturer restrictions that can leave people unable to configure the language or regional variant required by their apps.

On Xiaomi phones running MIUI or HyperOS, for example, the system may restrict selection to one language or locale, and MultiLocale is designed to broaden those available settings. Selecting Japanese as a locale can help an application render Japanese character forms rather than Chinese characters in situations affected by Han unification. The app concentrates on language and locale configuration, not broader device customization.

It is intended for users whose phone software does not offer the language or locale they need, especially when an app’s text rendering depends on that choice. MultiLocale runs on Android 7.0 and later and uses a Universal architecture. Version 0.2 is open-source software in the System Tools category for Android.
