EinkBro16.7.1

EinkBro lets users browse and read web pages comfortably on Android E-Ink readers and e-note tablets, with a low-distraction interface designed for screens where animations and conventional touch interactions can be inconvenient. This open-source browser provides reader mode, clean typography, vertical reading for CJK text, custom fonts, adjustable text size, and bold text, while high-contrast icons and animation-free operation suit E-Ink displays. Pages can be turned by tapping either screen edge or pressing physical volume keys.

The browser can chat about the current page, summarize it, and run multi-step AI agent workflows through OpenAI, Gemini, Ollama, or custom servers. Natural text-to-speech voices read articles aloud, and translation works paragraph by paragraph or in a side-by-side layout. Its Tampermonkey-style userscript engine runs community scripts, including scripts from Greasy Fork, with GM APIs, per-script menu commands, automatic URL matching, and script updates.

Reading material can be exported as EPUB files with chapters and images, saved as PDFs with table-of-contents entries or appended to an existing PDF, preserved as MHT archives or full-page screenshots, and sent to Instapaper. More than 40 configurable toolbar actions can be reordered by dragging and placed at the top, bottom, or side; split-screen browsing, one-hand use, a floating navigation button, advanced gestures, unlimited tabs, and fullscreen mode support different reading habits. An ad blocker, JavaScript and cookie whitelists, tracking-parameter pruning, incognito mode, and per-site desktop mode provide browsing controls. Version 16.7.1 adds per-site WebView dark-mode and page-height overrides, rich Markdown AI answers with images and Mermaid diagrams, automatic recovery for crashed WebView tabs, and a smaller faster ad blocker with stronger malformed-filter protection, alongside fixes for closed-tab focus, Reader-mode lead images, EPUB titles, and redirected favicons. Android 7.0 or later is required, with arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 builds supported.
