About
Greek citizens can use ekklesia — Direct Democracy to cast anonymous Yes, No, or Abstain votes on actual bills before the Hellenic Parliament. The same interface covers regional and municipal decisions, giving residents a way to express views on public matters. It compares parliamentary votes with citizen results through a Divergence Score and shows which party’s voting record most closely matches public opinion.
For local government, Diavgeia integration brings in regional and municipal decisions from the Hellenic Parliament, Diavgeia at diavgeia.gov.gr, and data.gov.gr. AI-generated bill summaries use Ollama and DeepL to make proposals easier to review. During verification, HLR checks the network status of a Greek phone number, but that check does not prove SIM possession or establish identity. Personal data is not retained, and the phone number is deleted after verification.
Each vote uses an Ed25519 signature and a nullifier hash, while the private key remains on the phone and never leaves it. Cryptographic signing prevents votes from being falsified, and Arweave preserves the results in a permanent, immutable audit trail. The app suits citizens following parliamentary proposals, examining local decisions, or comparing elected representatives’ positions with public sentiment. It operates independently of government, and its votes are informational rather than legally binding.
