Import character portraits into FloatDeck and watch them appear as cards that shift with your device’s movement, creating a three-dimensional sense of depth in the live wallpaper. Its gyroscope and accelerometer readings drive the parallax effect, while inertia-based physics lets cards continue moving naturally as the device changes position. FloatDeck also supports the lock screen and smooth transitions between different wallpaper states.

Users can arrange portraits through customizable template layouts, making the cards float in different compositions. Templates can be imported from a remote ZIP URL, a ZIP file in device storage, or a local folder containing the template files. Each template uses a folder structure with template.json and image files, with valid id, wallpaper, and portraits fields required; images may be PNG, JPG, JPEG, or WebP.

ZIP imports are limited to 50 MB, individual files to 10 MB, and template IDs to letters, numbers, underscores, and hyphens, while paths containing .. are blocked. FloatDeck has no trackers and does not require internet permission, despite supporting remote-URL template imports. It runs on Android 8.0 and later across arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 devices, and is distributed under an open-source license.

In version 0.4.2, semi-transparent PNG portraits no longer render as opaque cards with black or washed-out backgrounds. Transparent regions now reveal the wallpaper correctly, with proper alpha blending maintained throughout the fade.
