Flux News syncs articles from a Miniflux backend and presents them in a dedicated Android reader, giving you a local library for reading away from an internet connection. After a feed sync, articles remain available on planes, in subway tunnels, or in other offline locations. Swipe gestures let you move through items, mark them read, or save them for later, while scrolling over an article can mark it read automatically for a quick inbox-zero workflow.

Its podcast tools download new episodes automatically, remove them after listening to conserve storage, and provide variable-speed playback, chapter navigation, and a sleep timer. Playback position synchronizes with Miniflux, and a dedicated downloads view keeps offline audio organized. In the car, a CarPlay interface provides an audio-focused dashboard for accessing downloaded podcasts and controlling playback.

Flux News sends articles through Android’s system share sheet, forwards them to configured third-party services, opens links in their corresponding installed apps, and displays comments inside the reader. Filters cover unread, read, and starred items as well as categories and individual feeds, while search queries the entire Miniflux backend. Light, Dark, and True Black themes accommodate different preferences and OLED displays; version 2.3.2 also adds native home-screen widgets and automatic background synchronization.

The app communicates directly with your Miniflux API, does not collect, store, or analyze reading habits, and keeps credentials and content between your device and your own server. It is open-source, runs on Android 10 or later on arm64-v8a devices, and requires an existing Miniflux server instance or a Miniflux Cloud account.
