Frame converts video, audio, images, and subtitles through FFmpeg while giving users a native desktop interface for configuring and monitoring each job. It supports detailed video and audio transcoding controls, including codec, bitrate, container, filter, stream-copy, metadata, and subtitle options.

Users can add multiple files, choose which ones to process, and pause, resume, retry, or remove jobs while viewing progress for each file. Re-encoding provides full codec and filter control, while Cut and Stream Copy modes support fast trimming and remuxing when the source permits it. GIF export includes palette, dithering, loop, frame-rate, and scaling controls, and still images can be written as PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP, or TIFF. Presets cover Balanced MP4, Archive H.265, Web Share, GIF, audio-only, YouTube, TikTok/Reels, X, and Discord workflows.

Version 0.33.1 adds complete M2T, MTS, and M2TS workflows with 188-byte M2T and 192-byte MTS/M2TS profiles, MPEG-2 Video, MP2, Opus-in-TS, AC-3, and Blu-ray PCM encoding, selectable Preserve, Clean, and Replace metadata modes, subtitle burn-in for SRT, ASS, and WebVTT, and embedded DVB, teletext, ARIB, and PGS handling. It also supports selectable external SRT, ASS, and WebVTT tracks with language, title, default, and forced metadata, plus .sup PGS copying or standards-compliant DVB conversion. Explicit audio and embedded-subtitle selection now determines exported tracks, so an empty selection creates no stream of that type; file handling is also virtualized.

Frame uses Tauri v2, Svelte 5, GPUI-CE, Rust concurrency, and FFmpeg/FFprobe through a reusable conversion core. The Windows x64 release is open-source and published by Marek Jóźwiak.
