Gardine

Gardine is an Android system utility that provides a floating widget for switching between recently used applications. The widget is positioned in the upper-right corner of the screen. It is intended for users who want to bring a recent application back to the foreground through an on-screen control.

Swiping the widget to the left while keeping a finger on the screen opens a list of recent applications. The most recent application appears at the top of the stack. Moving the finger up or down highlights a different application in the list. Releasing the finger restores the selected application to the foreground.

During its first run, Gardine requests permission to use the Android Accessibility service. This permission is used to track switches between applications. Gardine also requests permission to display its floating widget above other windows. These permissions support the application-switching method provided by the widget.
