Gcam Services Provider (Basic)

Gcam Services Provider (Basic) is an open-source Android system tool that helps Google Camera, also known as Gcam, run on devices without Google Play Services. It provides the limited service behavior that Gcam requires rather than recreating Google Play Services as a complete replacement. The app is intended for users who want to use Gcam on compatible Android devices that do not include Google’s service framework.

The Basic flavor includes the components needed to get Gcam running. It does not support the full-size button for viewing the last photo taken. The app has no user interface and does not place an icon in the Android app drawer, but its installation appears in Android settings for management or uninstallation.

Unlike microG, this app is focused only on supporting Gcam and does not use signature spoofing. It does not require Internet access, storage access, or root access. It is not compatible with devices that already run Google Play Services or microG, and installation will fail on those devices.

As an Android System Tools application, Gcam Services Provider (Basic) is installed and managed through the platform’s normal app settings. Compatibility can also depend on the Android version or operating system used by the device, particularly with unmodified Gcam version 7.6 and newer.
