About
GeoNotes is an open-source Android app for creating and managing georeferenced notes on a map. Notes can contain text and photos, making it suitable for collecting location-based information while traveling or surveying places. Its design focuses on creating notes quickly with minimal unnecessary interaction.
Users can create, move, and delete notes directly on the map. Notes can be organized into categories, viewed in a complete list, and associated with photos. The app can show the current location and follow it as the user moves. All notes can be exported in GeoJSON or GPX format for later use, including potential upload to OpenStreetMap. GeoNotes also supports creating and restoring complete backups.
In the MirrorNest Navigation & Travel catalog, GeoNotes is provided for Android under an open-source license. MirrorNest mirrors the official build directly on its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing.
