About

Review your Git commits by day, week, month, or year with git-recall, which turns a selected time period into a concise standup summary. It helps individual developers report recent work and gives teams a quick view of what has been accomplished without manually searching commit history. Written in pure C by Ammaar, it runs directly against Git rather than relying on an additional runtime.

Choose daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly scopes, then use a numeric multiplier to look back any number of days, weeks, months, or years. The --me option filters results to commits matching your Git-configured email, while built-in text-file export lets you save summaries for reports or records. Its basic command form is git recall [range] [multiplier] [--me], and git recall --help displays the available options.

git-recall suits developers preparing standups, reviewing personal progress, or checking activity in large repositories, including monorepos. Colors are disabled automatically when output is piped, such as with git recall | less, or when the NO_COLOR environment variable is set. At runtime it requires Git; building the C program requires a C compiler.

Version 1.0.0 is published for Windows x64 as open-source software. Its compact native implementation and lack of Python, Node.js, or other heavy runtime dependencies distinguish it from commit-summary tools that require larger supporting environments.
