goldendictionary0.1

On an x86_64 (amd64) Linux system with snapd, goldendictionary lets you check words through a dedicated dictionary application. It gives readers and learners a focused place to consult unfamiliar vocabulary while studying, reading, or preparing text. The program addresses the interruption caused by an unclear term by putting the lookup task in one focused place.

Goldendictionary is the Goldendict application published by XiaoGuo, Liu. Its central capability is dictionary-based word checking, so the user consults it for a term and uses the available word information to resolve uncertainty about vocabulary. The application is delivered as a snap, matching the packaging format used by its required runtime. Its deliberately narrow purpose keeps the experience centered on dictionary lookups rather than broader study activities.

It can serve both a quick one-word check and repeated vocabulary consultation during a study session. Version 0.1 is the current release. It is released under an open-source license. Goldendictionary stands out through the combination of a narrowly defined word-checking role and snap-based delivery for its intended Linux environment.
