About

GSAK for Locus is an open-source Android add-on for preparing GSAK database data for use with Locus. It is intended for people who want to view geocaches from a prepared database on an Android device. The software connects the database preparation process with Locus, where the imported geocaches can be viewed. Its catalog classification is Navigation & Travel because its purpose relates to geocaching and navigation.

Before the data can be used, the relevant GSAK database must be copied to the Android device. The user then configures the paths so GSAK for Locus can locate the copied database. This path configuration is an essential part of the setup, because the add-on needs those locations to access the prepared data. After the database and paths are configured, Locus can import the geocaches for viewing.

Once the geocaches have been imported, they can be viewed offline on the Android device. An internet connection is not required during that viewing stage, although offline access depends on completing the database-copying and path-configuration steps first. MirrorNest distributes the official Android build directly from its own storage. The build is scanned for malware before it is published, and the listing identifies its open-source license and Android Navigation & Travel category.
