Use your Android phone or tablet to control all the devices in your Home Assistant instance, giving you a direct mobile interface for the smart-home equipment that instance manages. It works as a companion to a separate, existing Home Assistant instance, so it depends on that environment rather than providing home automation by itself. For people who already operate Home Assistant, it puts device control within reach during routine use around the home.

This minimal flavor intentionally omits location tracking and notifications, keeping its role focused on controlling devices through the connected instance. It is suited to household members using an Android device and to administrators who need a mobile way to access an established Home Assistant setup. The current release is 2026.6.5-minimal, and it requires Android 6.0 or newer. Supported device architectures are arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86. Home Assistant is open-source, and installing this application requires an existing Home Assistant instance as its companion software.
