hopscout

hopscout is an open-source live traceroute and network monitor for Windows. It examines network paths as they are observed rather than providing only a fixed route snapshot. It is intended for users who need to inspect connectivity and path behavior from a Windows system.

hopscout supports ICMP probing without administrator access, along with UDP and TCP-SYN probing. These methods work across both IPv4 and IPv6. Per-flow multipath discovery allows different paths associated with separate flows to be examined. Path-change alerting identifies changes in an observed route.

The tool adds reverse-DNS, ASN, and geolocation information to its path results. A world map and topology view provide visual ways to inspect the discovered network structure. hopscout includes both a terminal user interface and a desktop graphical interface. Its command line is compatible with MTR and can produce reports in report, JSON, and CSV formats.
