iamb

iamb is an open-source productivity application for Linux. It is a work-in-progress client whose basic functionality is already available, while additional implementation remains to be completed. The application is intended for Linux users who need a keyboard-oriented way to work with direct messages, rooms, spaces, and related account activity.

Users configure iamb through a TOML file in its configuration folder. The configuration can specify a default profile, a user ID, a homeserver URL, cache and log locations, a download directory, and display details for users. The interface provides keyboard controls for sending typed messages, inserting blank lines, selecting the message bar or scrollback, and changing whether the current window fills the screen. Room commands can open direct messages, list joined rooms, show members or spaces, join a room or start a direct message, and open rooms in split windows. Verification commands provide a way to view current verification requests and request, confirm, or mark a user and device verification as mismatched.
