Ithaka Board Game1.5.1

Ithaka Board Game lets two players compete on a four-by-four square grid by maneuvering colored pieces toward a line-making or immobilization victory. The setup uses three pieces in each of four colors, with each color occupying one corner and the two neighboring edge spaces. All twelve pieces are shared by both players rather than divided into separate sides.

On each turn, a player moves one piece any number of spaces in a straight horizontal, vertical, or diagonal direction across empty spaces. The chosen piece must begin beside another piece of the same color, and it cannot be the piece moved on the opponent’s immediately preceding turn. Victory comes from placing three pieces of one color in a row or leaving the opponent without a legal move, giving each position both offensive and blocking possibilities.

The game suits people who enjoy compact abstract strategy contests and want to practice planning around shared pieces and changing movement options. The Ithaka rules are published by World of Abstract Games, and an Ithaka ZRF is available for play with Zillions of Games. This Games title runs on Android 7.1 or later in a Universal architecture; version 1.5.1 is open-source.
