Kwik DEM (eur.rus)1.11

Kwik DEM (eur.rus) adds digital elevation model terrain data for Europe and Russia to Kwik EFIS, giving the flight display the landscape data it needs to depict surrounding ground. Kwik EFIS can then use this information in its synthetic-vision display to represent the surrounding landscape during use. The data pack is used within Kwik EFIS, supplying terrain context for the area around a planned or active flight.

It is intended for pilots and other aviation users who rely on terrain visualization while preparing a route or maintaining situational awareness in the air. During flight planning, its regional coverage gives the EFIS terrain information for European and Russian operating areas. In flight, the same data supports awareness of nearby landforms through the synthetic-vision presentation.

Kwik DEM (eur.rus) works with the companion application Kwik EFIS on Android, so Kwik EFIS is part of the software setup required to use the terrain data. The package uses universal architecture for Android devices and is distributed as open-source software. Version 1.11 is the current release, with the product’s role centered on supplying geographic elevation data while Kwik EFIS provides the aviation display in which that data is viewed.
