Lemonade Desktop

Lemonade Desktop is an open-source productivity application for Linux. It provides a dedicated desktop environment for AI conversations through a modern chat interface. It is intended for Linux users who want to work with AI conversations in a local desktop application.

Inference can use hardware acceleration on supported GPUs and NPUs. Processing runs entirely on the local machine, so the application is designed for local use and privacy. Lemonade Desktop supports both native Wayland and X11 display environments. The desktop client requires the lemonade-server snap to be installed and running because that server provides the AI backend.

Users can install the server with sudo snap install lemonade-server. The server starts automatically after installation, and its status can be checked with snap services lemonade-server. Lemonade Desktop connects to the server through localhost port 13305, so the server needs to be running before the desktop client is launched.
