Link Clear

Link Clear is an open-source Android application for cleaning URLs before they are used or shared. It is intended for people who want to inspect and remove parts of a link through an explicit user action. The application belongs to the Internet & Browsers category and focuses on link handling rather than general browsing.

After a URL is cleaned, a confirmation screen provides Copy, Share, and Open actions for the resulting link. An optional Automatic action setting can perform one selected action immediately. A Quick Settings tile named Clean clipboard cleans the current clipboard contents with one tap. The in-app Paste Clean / Paste Raw editor provides a live before-and-after comparison of pasted content, showing which parts were removed during cleaning.

Link Clear includes its URL-cleaning ruleset with the application, so it works offline by default. It does not require runtime permissions and does not monitor the clipboard in the background. The application acts when the user explicitly shares a link, uses the Clean clipboard tile, or pastes content into the editor. Two optional network features are disabled by default: resolving shortened links such as t.co or bit.ly before cleaning, and manually refreshing the bundled ruleset.

Link Clear is free software licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3.0, while its URL-cleaning rules come from the ClearURLs project under the LGPL-3.0 license.
