About
Logisim-evolution lets users draw digital logic circuits, run them in simulation, and inspect how their signals behave. The Logisim-Evolution project is aimed at students, teachers, and electronics learners working through logic-design lessons, assignments, or prototype ideas. Its circuit editor provides an approachable way to assemble and test designs without immediately building physical hardware.
A chronogram view plots signal changes over time, making timing and state transitions easier to examine. Electronic-board integration can send schematics to real hardware for simulation outside the desktop circuit. Components can use VHDL to define their behavior, while the TCL/TK console provides an interface between a circuit and its user. A large component library includes LEDs, TTL devices, switches, and SoCs; custom libraries can load at startup, and the interface supports multiple languages.
As a Java application, it is cross-platform; the Linux release targets x86_64 (amd64) systems with snapd and Java 21 or newer. Version 3.8.0 is open-source software for educational digital-logic design and simulation.
Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: x86_64 (amd64)
