About
Lumi - Interactive Content with H5P is an open-source desktop application for Linux in the education category. It lets users create, edit, and view interactive HTML elements packaged as H5P content. The application is intended for educators and other people who prepare educational materials, and it can be used without programming knowledge.
Lumi provides more than 40 H5P content types, including interactive videos and common quiz formats such as fill-in-the-blanks and multiple-choice questions. Users can download content types directly from the H5P Hub and work with all H5P content types supported by the application. Changes can be previewed quickly without saving, and H5P packages can be saved to the local filesystem. Lumi can also export content as standalone HTML bundles, produce SCORM exports, and show student progress through Lumi Analytics.
The application does not require access to a learning management system such as Moodle or a content management system such as WordPress or Drupal. Educational content can instead be created on the Linux desktop and exported as an HTML file for sharing with students. This makes Lumi a desktop-based option within the education software category for working with H5P content independently of those systems.
MirrorNest mirrors the official Linux build directly on its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing. Lumi is a community project and is not affiliated with Joubel AS, the creators of the H5P core and many H5P content types.
