Mapollage26.03

Mapollage associates a photo collection with geographic locations and generates a KML file for Google Earth. The resulting map places photos where they belong geographically, allowing their visual content to be viewed alongside the places they represent. This gives users a location-based way to organize, review, and study photographs.

The software suits projects where photos need to be understood through place rather than as an unconnected collection. Its map placement is especially useful in education when visual material and location contribute to learning or reference work. Mapollage can also work with external description files, a capability introduced in version 1.1.1.

Current version 26.03 is primarily a user-interface rewrite that also brings new features. The interface has moved from Swing to JavaFX, and a problem in the default profile settings involving folder structures and polygon generation has been corrected. Earlier configuration changes moved new profiles to ~/.config/mapollage/mapollage2.profiles, while older profiles remain in mapollage.profiles; Windows command-line launching was also adjusted to start through java.exe.

Mapollage is open-source software published by Patrik Karlström for Linux systems, and it requires snapd. The available build targets x86_64, also known as amd64.
