Middor places a mirrored view of a selected app in an overlay, allowing its content to appear with a horizontal flip. It also supports 180-degree rotation, making the display suitable for heads-up displays and projections onto a car windscreen. Drivers can use it with Google Maps navigation, while other users can view mirrored images and videos.

Because the mirror appears above other apps, Middor uses the SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW permission to draw its overlay. The FOREGROUND_SERVICE permission keeps the mirror service running while the overlay is active. FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION captures the screen content of the app underneath the mirror. POST_NOTIFICATIONS is optional and lets Middor show a service notification with additional actions.

This open-source Android application relies on single-app screen sharing and requires Android 14 QPR2 or later. It supports arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 devices. Version 0.2.0 adds a warning that Android 14 devices require at least the QPR2 release. Usage instructions are available through the project’s GitHub Discussions.
