Muezzin2.5.9

Muezzin displays Islamic prayer (Adhan) times on a Linux desktop and can announce each salah with a selected call to prayer. Developed by DarkBlackChocolate, it is an open-source application in the education category. Its appearance and audio behavior are highly customizable, allowing the prayer display to fit personal preferences.

Prayer settings include advanced options beyond a basic timetable, while Adhan playback can be enabled or disabled. Users can import their own Adhan audio, choose whether to show a background, and add a personal background image. The integrated Qur’an reader presents translations and transliterations in multiple languages. Quran.com API and Quran-JSON provide the Qur’an content, with Electron modules supporting the desktop application.

Muezzin suits Muslims who want prayer reminders and Qur’an reading on a computer, including home, study, and work settings where a phone is not the preferred reference. It currently supports 10 languages, with additional language support and other improvements planned. Version 2.5.9 runs on Linux with snapd and requires an x86_64 (amd64) system.
