Mutt

Read, compose, and organize email from a keyboard-driven text interface with Mutt, keeping message work inside a terminal-oriented workflow. It handles MIME content, encodes and decodes 8-bit message headers through RFC 1522, and supports UTF-8 text. Messages can be arranged using strict or non-strict threading, postponed indefinitely, and displayed with colour.

For mail connections, it supports IMAP with SSL encryption and SASL authentication, along with POP3 and ESMTP. It also handles PGP/MIME messages under RFC 2015. Mail can be stored in MMDF, MH, Maildir, or regular mbox mailboxes, with support for compressed mailboxes and an optional sidebar.

Users can change keybindings and control the program through an rc configuration file, while example layouts modeled on ELM, Mush, and PINE provide alternative interaction styles. This makes Mutt a practical choice for people who prefer configurable, keyboard-based email handling, especially in text-oriented workflows or environments where mailbox format matters.

Mutt is open-source Productivity software for Linux and requires snapd; the available build targets x86_64 (amd64) systems. Published by Snapcrafters, the current version is 2-4-3-rel.
