Navy Fleet Battle

Navy Fleet Battle is an open-source Android game in the Games category. It recreates the traditional Russian sea battle game on a 10-by-10 grid, using the classic rules without variants or configuration options. Players can compete against the computer or pass one Android device between two players.

Each fleet contains ten ships occupying twenty cells, and ships must be placed in straight lines without touching, including at the corners. A successful hit gives the same player another shot, while a miss passes the turn. When a ship is sunk, the water around it is marked automatically because another ship cannot occupy those cells.

The game uses large boards and touch targets intended to be easy for a child to use. Every shot is selected before it is fired, and animations show the result only after the shot has been made on both boards. A sinking is presented in two stages, with the hit followed by the hull going down, while the result of the game appears both as an image and in words. A hand-off screen shows a large player number, and sound is available throughout with a mute button on every screen that remembers its setting.

Russian and English can be switched with a corner button at any point, including during a battle, and the board labels change between the two alphabets. Navy Fleet Battle is free under the MIT licence, and its sounds are public-domain recordings. It has no adverts, trackers, accounts, or network access, and requests no storage, location, camera, or microphone permissions.
