Oblivion

Oblivion is an open-source Android application for responding to situations in which a device may be lost, forcibly unlocked, or temporarily outside its owner’s physical control. It is designed to let the user lock and wipe the device after a configured security trigger is activated. This places it in the System Tools category as a tool for protecting data through device-level actions.

A user can activate Oblivion with a panic button provided as a Quick Settings tile. The application can also respond to a remote message that contains a secret code. Another trigger starts the response when the device has not been unlocked for a configurable period. Its listed wipe action is a factory reset, which removes the device’s stored data. These controls are implemented through the Android Device Administration API.

Oblivion runs on Android and has full support for GrapheneOS. It is released as free and open-source software under the GPL-3.0 license, allowing the product to be examined and used under that license. Encrypted, password-protected devices are the only devices that can guarantee their data cannot be recovered. Oblivion does not function in Android Safe Mode.
