About

Okular is an open-source document viewer developed by KDE. It is available for Linux and is intended for people who need to read different types of documents from one application. As a Productivity tool, it supports document-focused tasks across a broad range of file formats.

Supported formats include PDF, PS, TIFF, CHM, DjVu, images, DVI, XPS, ODT, FictionBook, comic book files, Plucker, EPUB, and fax documents. This range allows the same viewer to handle standard documents, technical files, ebooks, comics, and scanned or image-based content. Format support is central to Okular’s role as a general-purpose document viewer.

The application provides a sidebar with contents, thumbnails, reviews, and bookmarks. These sections give readers ways to move through a document, inspect page previews, access reviews, and return to marked locations. Okular also supports annotations for adding document-related notes or markings.

MirrorNest distributes the official Linux build directly from its own storage. The mirrored file is scanned for malware before publishing, giving Linux users a catalog-based way to obtain the open-source application. Its Linux availability, open-source license, and document-viewing features place it within the Productivity category.
