Choose which chess piece to move, then let Open Chaos Chess determine that piece’s move at random, turning a familiar board game into a contest of calculated choices and unpredictable results. Victory comes from eliminating every opposing piece rather than delivering checkmate, so the objective and tactics differ sharply from standard chess. This open-source Android game is a version of Chaos Chess stripped of Google Play Services.

It includes single-player games, achievement tracking, animated piece movement, and multiplayer that works over Bluetooth for the most part. Additional options include Chess960, Queens Attack Handicap, Smart Computer mode, and the Bloodthirst feature, while an Android Material Color Picker dialog manages color choices. The game operates fully without an internet connection, although Bluetooth is required for multiplayer.

Achievements and color settings are stored locally, and progress is lost if app data is wiped or the player moves to a new device; there are no online services to restore it. ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION serves only as the mandatory prerequisite for Bluetooth, with no location data stored or transmitted, while READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE handle importing and exporting color preferences and achievements. The app requires Android 4.1 or later and uses a Universal architecture.
