Open Golf1.0

Open Golf lets players guide a ball through about 20 golf-themed minigolf levels, with the goal of finishing every hole and improving their results. Each hole provides a score for comparison, and the main challenge is to reduce that score toward the lowest possible result. The game suits short score-chasing sessions for players who enjoy working through a fixed progression of courses.

The current version is 1.0, an open-source Android game developed as a cross-platform minigolf project in C by mgerdes. Its use of the Sokol libraries provides 3D graphics and audio, while dedicated physics code manages golf-ball collision detection and responses. ImGui tools support rapid iteration during development, and an integrated editor allows terrain to be changed, played immediately, and extended with scripts that generate points and faces for more elaborate models.

Lightmapper bakes terrain lighting into course files, while xatlas creates the lightmap UVs; lighting for some moving objects can be interpolated from multiple samples. Android 4.3 or newer is required, with arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 builds supported. The project also has desktop build targets for Windows, Linux, and macOS, including a generated Visual Studio solution for Windows. Developers contributing through GitHub need an account there, making the editor and cross-platform code especially relevant for course creation and testing.
