Open Sudoku lets you solve Sudoku puzzles, record your progress, and return to unfinished games. It starts with 90 built-in puzzles across three difficulty levels, supporting both quick practice and longer solving sessions. You can enter your own puzzles by hand, download additional puzzles from the web, and import them from files.

A statistics view records time spent and mistakes, while next-step hints offer several strategy suggestions when you get stuck. Finger play is supported through a numpad and popup controls, while keyboard input provides an alternative. Visual themes can be changed or created with the custom theme editor, and double pencil marks help track candidates. The game is presented without ads.

New puzzles can be generated through the project’s homepage by selecting a quantity and difficulty; higher difficulty settings take longer, and each generation produces a new set. QQWing-generated puzzles can also be made with its binary from a POSIX console, while SudoCue supplies daily challenges and other Sudoku variants. Additional collections include Snowflake, The Superiors, No-Trick Ponies, Almost Daily Nightmare, Learning Curve, Top 10000 Sudokus, and 50K Tabling Puzzles.

Version 4.11.1 is an open-source Android game for Android 8.0 or later on arm64-v8a devices. The current release updates the layout for edge-to-edge Play Console requirements and refreshes translations.
