About

OpenWorker turns a requested outcome into finished work, such as a polished document, a Slack reply with supporting numbers, an updated calendar, or a triaged inbox. The AI coworker works across your files, code repositories, Slack, calendar, and other everyday tools, carrying tasks from investigation through delivery instead of returning only a chat response. It checks in before important actions, while its open-source harness keeps actions approval-gated and logged.

This System Tools application runs on your Windows desktop and accepts API keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or an open-weight model provider, or it can run locally through Ollama. Data leaves your machine only through the model and integrations you select. Specialist workflows can review code for vulnerabilities and prepare fixes, scan GitHub Actions and secret findings by reachability, check Terraform against live cloud configuration, and submit infrastructure fixes as pull requests that fit the codebase. It suits developers, security teams, cloud operators, and knowledge workers handling deliverables across engineering, operations, communication, and scheduling.

Version 0.3.1 adds OpenWorker inside OpenShell: its CLI is published as ghcr.io/andrewyng/openworker and runs in an NVIDIA OpenShell sandbox with one command, asking for permission and waiting when a site is blocked. WebSearch now follows an allow-list, and the agent can ask the egress policy server to add network access; the desktop OpenShell option supports OpenShell 0.1.2, while OpenShell 0.0.x users must upgrade first. On a Mac, Docker Desktop host networking must be enabled for this option, and “Allow everything” is no longer offered. OpenWorker is open-source and requires Windows 8.1 or later, or Server 2012 R2 or later, on x64 hardware.
