Turn an Android home screen into a changing live wallpaper with scenes that shift naturally as the day progresses. Palette-Cycle uses artwork by Mark Ferrari and code from Ian Gilman and Joseph Huckaby, drawing on the Canvas Cycle and Worlds demos, including Huckaby’s blendshift technique. Its time-aware mode offers more than 20 images across seven collections, selecting dawn, daytime, evening, or night scenes to match the current hour.

The app also includes more than 35 independently animated images alongside several still pictures, so users can choose a fixed scene or a continuously moving background. Pan and zoom controls let you frame only part of an image, while parallax makes the full artwork scroll as you move between home screens. It downloads only the images selected for use, which suits people who want atmospheric backgrounds without keeping every collection on the device. Featured scenes include Mirror Pond – Dawn, Mountain Stream – Dawn, and Dark Castle – Lightning.

Palette-Cycle is an open-source Android System Tools app for ambient home-screen customization, including phones and tablets running Android 7.1 or later; its universal architecture covers supported device types. Version 2.3.1 stores internal files under data/data/rak.pixellwp/files and logs under data/data/rak.pixellwp/app_logs, with additional files in Android/data/rak.pixellwp/files.
