PDF-Over4.4.8

PDF-Over applies a qualified electronic signature to PDF documents through the user’s ID Austria, allowing the completed file to remain digital. In the relevant legal context, this signature has the same validity as a handwritten signature. It replaces the cycle of printing a document, signing it on paper, and scanning it back for return.

A PDF can be opened by dragging it into the program or selecting it in Windows Explorer. The user then drags a signature box to the required position and starts the signing process with the ID Austria app. The visible signature box can be customized, including an option to use a freely chosen image such as a company logo.

PDF-Over also includes a prepared profile for the official Amtssignatur and supports an invisible signature recorded in the PDF’s metadata rather than displayed in its content. That invisible signature retains the same validity as a visible one. The utility is intended for people who handle PDFs and must provide a legally valid signature when a document needs to be signed and sent back electronically.

Published by A-SIT (Secure Information Technology Center - Austria), PDF-Over 4.4.8 runs on Windows with x64 architecture. Versions from 4.4.0 onward support only 64-bit systems; legacy version 4.3.2 is limited to 32-bit systems, has reached end of life, and is no longer actively developed. Automatic updates can be turned off under Settings > Advanced.
