Create or extract archives with PeaZip, including RAR, 7z, ACE, ISO, TAR, WIM, ZIP, and ZIPX files. It recognizes 243 archive extensions, covering more than 200 formats and variants, and handles split archives such as 001, R01, and Z01 files. The format coverage also includes ZIM packages containing Wikipedia and Project Gutenberg data dumps, along with spanned archives and multiple encryption standards.

In the file manager, select items and press F12 to search available functions, then apply the chosen action to that selection. Dragging items opens an internal menu with Add to archive, Extraction options, and Copy or Move commands, while improved shortcuts and automatic refreshing make file operations easier to follow. Additional tools find duplicate files, convert archives, search within archives, and organize frequently used locations through bookmarks and tabbed browsing.

PeaZip bridges graphical and command-line workflows, supporting scripted compression, archiving, backup, and extraction tasks. For encryption-capable formats, it can combine a password with a keyfile as two-factor authentication, and it offers graphical access to less common compressors such as ZPAQ, Brotli, and Zstandard. Its technology base includes 7-Zip/p7zip, Facebook Zstandard, FreeArc, Google Brotli, PAQ compressors, and the PEA project.

Version 11.3.0 updates the 7z/p7zip 26.02 and Pea 1.32 backends and improves keyboard shortcuts, drag and drop, and file-manager auto-refresh. The x64 Windows release also has the same full-featured interface on Linux and macOS, supports portable use from removable devices or shared network and cloud locations, and uses sources compiled with Lazarus 4.x that remain compatible with Lazarus 3.x and 2.x. PeaZip is open-source under LGPLv3, allowing integration into varied licensing environments.
