PhoneTrack0.1.0

PhoneTrack continuously records a phone’s location coordinates in the background and sends them to the Nextcloud PhoneTrack app or a server you configure. You can choose how often positions are logged, upload them in real time when connectivity is available, or keep them queued until a network connection returns. It suits travelers, field workers, and anyone who needs a location history while the device is moving without manual recording.

Separate logging destinations have their own settings for recording frequency, minimum distance, minimum accuracy, and significant movement. A regular log job targets the PhoneTrack app in Nextcloud, while a custom job submits data through HTTP GET or POST requests accepted by another server. The app can begin logging jobs automatically when Android starts and stores positions for later processing during network outages. SMS commands can request the current position, activate an alarm, start or stop all logging jobs, or create a new logging job. During a Nextcloud PhoneTrack session, recorded devices can be viewed on a map.

Version 0.1.0 is open-source Android software requiring Android 4.3 or later, with arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 support. The Nextcloud destination requires a Nextcloud instance with the PhoneTrack app enabled, while custom server destinations can be used without that setup. Its Navigation & Travel role is complemented by a dark theme and multilingual interface.
