Plug Off Airplane uses root access to switch Airplane Mode off when an Android device is connected to a USB cable. It addresses the situation in which someone uses Airplane Mode to disable the cellular radio during periods when mobile connectivity is unnecessary, then leaves the device in that state. The USB connection serves as the trigger, giving the user a deliberate point at which connectivity can be restored.

The utility is intended for a familiar, safe location such as home, where the device can be connected by cable. This routine can turn Airplane Mode off at least once during the day instead of leaving the device offline indefinitely. The approach also suits people who prefer to restore connectivity at home because their telecom provider already associates the device with its billing address, which may be preferable from a metadata perspective.

Its scope is deliberately narrow: it responds to plugging in a USB cable by disabling Airplane Mode rather than providing a broader connectivity-management suite. Plug Off Airplane runs on Android 5.0 or newer and supports Universal architecture. Version 1.1 is released under an open-source license.
